Loveyapa Movie Review (2025): Is it Love or Siyapa?

Introduction:

Advait Chandan directed Loveyapa movie, a romantic comedy that was released on 7th February 2025. The tone of this film is romantic comedy, and the theme is love. It was created just for entertainment purposes. When it comes to the message, today’s youthful generation sees nothing else but mobile phones. loveyapa trailer is much more entertaining than the movie. The film’s lead actors are Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. This film is a remake of the Tamil Love Today, released in 2022. It is directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, who also stars in the movie and writes the lyrics. This film is one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2022, with a budget of 5 crores and 100 crores in earnings.

Plot:

This film tells the story of a young couple who love each other and wish to marry. One day, the girl’s father overhears her talking with her lover and calls him to meet her at home. Will her father consent to the marriage, and can she persuade her father? Will they get married? Watch the film to find out the answers to all of these questions.

Acting and characters:

This is Junaid Khan‘s second film & theatrical first film as Gucci. Before this, he appeared in the OTT film Maharaj (2024). He portrayed a modern-day youth. His acting was pretty poor. Despite having performed this part, he still has a lot to learn. He could not impress anyone with his acting. He demonstrated weakness in all areas, including body language, dialogue delivery, dance, facial emotions and attitude. Likewise, he appeared feeble in all of his acting performances. He still has a long way to go; this is only the beginning. This is Khushi Kapoor‘s second film as Bani Boo. She previously appeared in Zoya Akhtar‘s film The Archies (2023). She also has to understand the intricacies of acting. Furthermore, she failed at acting. Also, she doesn’t know how to talk and cry appropriately. When I see her act, I get the impression that she is a child. She couldn’t express her emotions in the film. Her dancing abilities were equally lacking, but she performed marginally better than Junaid Khan.

Loveyapa Director:

Advait Chandan directed this film. He previously directed Secret Superstar (2017), which was commercially and critically successful. Following this, he launched his movie Lal Singh Chaddha (2022), which was a tremendous flop. He has now brought Loveyapa film, which has also proven unsuccessful. It appears that new wine has been poured into the old bottle. His direction is quite weak; he is unable to achieve anything new. The story and screenplay are likewise not particularly strong. He failed to engage the audience. There is nothing new from start to finish. The Tamil film Love Today (2022) was a huge success. He couldn’t direct this remake well. His flaws are obvious in every aspect of the picture.

Screenplay:

Sneha Desai‘s screenplay is ineffective. While watching the film, it appears that the script has been stretched like chewing gum. While viewing the video, one feels extremely bored, as if old wine has been placed in a new bottle and served to drink. She couldn’t evaluate a remake film well.

Dialogue:

Sneha Desai has done an excellent job writing the dialogue. It has a Punjabi influence. The Punjabi language has been well-used. Dialogues have been written to fit the film’s context and appear to be quite new.

Cinematography:

Rajesh Nare‘s cinematography is mediocre. Some aerial views of Delhi were excellently recorded.

Editing:

Antara Lahiri‘s editing is fine. The movie could have been 15–20 minutes shorter. The film is slow-paced and occasionally boring.

Music:

Tanishk Bagchi, White Noise Collectives, Suyyash Rai, and Siddharth Singh composed the soundtrack for the film. All the songs follow Punjabi lines. Tanishk Bagchi composed the music for Rehna Kol, and Jubin Nautiyal and Zahrah S Khan performed the vocals. And Kaun Kinna Zaroori Si, sung by Vishal Mishra, is a good song worth hearing. The song Loveyapa ho gaya is also acceptable.

Lyrics:

All the songs are composed in Punjabi, such as Loveyapa, Rehna Kol, and Kaun Kinna Zaroori Si.

Background Score:

Ketan Sodha, Suyyash Rai, Siddharth Singh, and Viplove Rajdeo have an okay backdrop score.

Choreography:

Farah Khan and Bosco Martis‘ choreography is okay for only one song, Loveyapa.

Production Design:

Chayati Kaushik and Sunayanaa Paradkar‘s production design is acceptable.

Sound Design:

Pritam Das‘ sound design might be considered good.

Costume Design:

Priyanjali Lahiri‘s costume design is based on today’s young generation and modern times.

Climax:

The conclusion was similarly crafted in the style of clichéd old films.

Opinion:

It is a time pass film.
